With the recent Pandemic caused by the novel virus COVID-19, hospice care delivery has been impacted by the restrictions associated with isolation procedures and social distancing to avoid the spread of the virus. Our staff has to go into elderly communities such as assisted living facilities and nursing homes to deliver care, but some of these places are restricting access due to the virus. This is limiting the provision of our services to hospice patients. Hospice care is in some cases, being severely limited to the actively dying patients at this time. We are uncertain as to how long and how severe the impact of the virus will be at this time, however, we remain vigilant and hopeful that we will emerge from this and resume the care that our patients need.
